Capo FC Clinches Semifinal Spot as Goals Flow on Day 2 of NISA Pro Cup

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, MI (October 15, 2025) — The second day of the 2025 NISA Pro Cup delivered plenty of drama, goals, and one clear storyline: Capo FC is the first team through to the semifinals.

The Southern California side stunned the field with a comeback win, while their regional rivals will have to wait for Matchday 3 to see if they’ll join them.

Los Angeles Force 1, Peak XI FC 1 (L.A. Force wins PKs, 4-3)

In one of the day’s most intense clashes, defending champions Los Angeles Force survived a physical battle with Peak XI FC.

Joel Quist scored his second goal of the tournament in the 15th minute to give L.A. Force (1-1-0) the early advantage. Peak XI responded after the break, with Alpay Lazkano netting the equalizer midway through the second half.

The match went to penalties, where goalkeeper Mark Gamez made two clutch saves to secure the 4-3 shootout win and the extra point for the defending champs.

Capo FC 2, Northern Colorado Hailstorm 1

Better late than never.

Capo FC showed resilience, coming from behind to knock off Northern Colorado Hailstorm and book their place in the semifinals.

Aaron Russ opened the scoring in the 1st minute for Northern Colorado (1-0-1), setting the tone early. But Capo’s Parker Scalzo leveled the match shortly after halftime.

In stoppage time, Dakota Hatzenbeller earned a crucial penalty, and Jonathan Estrada — already on the scoresheet earlier in the tournament — calmly converted from the spot for the second straight match to seal a 2-1 win and Capo’s advancement.

Sin City FC 12, Modesto City FC 1

If there was any doubt about their firepower, Sin City FC erased it emphatically.

Miguel Higareda led the way with a tournament-best four goals as Sin City FC (1-1-0) exploded for seven second-half tallies against Modesto City FC.

Andy Rodriguez opened the floodgates in the 8th minute, with Roberto Soto and Duce Bell each netting a brace. Bubakarry Padika scored Modesto’s lone goal just before halftime, but the game was well out of reach as the Las Vegas side cruised to a lopsided 12-1 win.

Arkansas Wolves SC 3, DC Hyper 1

Arkansas Wolves SC earned its first Cup victory behind a dominant second-half surge.

George Almeida, the towering 6-foot-5 Brazilian striker, scored twice after halftime, while Diasuke Otsuke added the third to secure the win.

DC Hyper benefited from a first-half own goal — their second of the tournament — but was unable to break down the Wolves’ physical back line as the match wore on.
