INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (Nov. 29, 2025) — The St. Louis Ambush fell to the Kansas City Comets 8–3 on Saturday night at Cable Dahmer Arena, marking their second loss to Kansas City in as many days. The Comets opened the young season 2–0, while the Ambush dropped to 0–2.

Neither team scored until the 13th minute of the first quarter, when Kansas City’s Zach Reget converted a rebound off the wall following a shot by Guerrero Pino.

Kansas City doubled its lead early in the second quarter as Rian Marques scored in the second minute. Marques then set up Reget for the Comets’ third goal, sending a pass to the forward, whose shot from inside the arc deflected off Ambush goalkeeper Paulo Nascimento and into the net. The Comets carried a 3–0 advantage into halftime.

The Ambush cut into the deficit six minutes into the third quarter on an unassisted goal from Daniel Torrealba, but the Comets answered 34 seconds later when Christian Anderaos made it 4–1. St. Louis pulled one back on a penalty kick in the sixth minute after a Pino handball, with Duduca Carvalho converting from the spot. Kansas City struck again before the end of the period, as Nathan Durdle scored with nine seconds remaining to push the lead to 5–2.

Torrealba grabbed his second unassisted goal of the night in the opening minute of the fourth quarter, trimming the Kansas City lead to 5–3. Marques extended the advantage in the fifth minute with his second goal, assisted by Henry Ramirez. Anderaos added another on a ninth-minute breakaway, and Kansas City capped the scoring in the 11th minute when a shot from Lesia Thestane deflected off David Stankovic and into the net.

The 8–3 score held through the final whistle.

St. Louis now enters a two-week break before returning home to The Family Arena, where the Ambush will host the Milwaukee Wave on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025, at 2:05 p.m. CST.
