The 15,000-seat facility, located at the former site of Southwest Detroit Hospital on Michigan Avenue and 20th Street, is expected to begin construction later this year. The project is slated for completion ahead of the 2027 USL Championship season.

Ticket deposits for the inaugural 2027 season will be available starting August 26. AlumniFi Field will become Detroit’s first privately owned professional sports stadium.

“Our goal with this stadium is not just to enhance the future of Detroit City FC but to contribute to the growth and vibrancy of the city,” said Sean Mann, CEO of Detroit City FC. “Our partnership with AlumniFi represents a shared commitment to building a stronger, more unified Detroit, where everyone – from youth to adults – can thrive.”

Currently, Detroit City FC plays its home games at Keyworth Stadium in Hamtramck. Prior to that, the club hosted matches at Cass Tech High School in Detroit
