WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (Oct. 13, 2025) — Opening Day of the 2025 NISA Pro Cup was filled with energy and intensity, even if it wasn’t flawless. With eight clubs from across the country gathering at a single site, logistics were top of mind for many.

Across four matches, the opening day produced 14 goals, two red cards and one penalty shootout.

Northern Colorado Hailstorm 4, Modesto City FC 0

Bamadele Esan scored the first two goals of the tournament as Northern Colorado Hailstorm cruised to a 4-0 win in the opening match. Esan capitalized on a two- and then three-player advantage, while Travis Ward and Carlos Valenzuela each added goals before halftime.

Modesto City FC began the match with nine players. Left back Jose Mosqueda exited with an injury in the first half, and another player suffered a hamstring injury, forcing the team to abandon the match at halftime.

After a Sin City miss to open the kicks, Estrada buried his attempt in the top corner. Capo FC converted its first three shots, and goalkeeper Edwin Gutierrez made back-to-back saves to secure the win.
