LA10 FC, Tennessee Tempo FC Set for UPSL National Championship Showdown
Irvine, CA – The Spring 2025 UPSL National Championship is poised to deliver an exciting final, with Los Angeles' LA10 Football Club set to face Nashville’s Tennessee Tempo FC for the title of best semi-professional soccer team in the United States. The two teams, known for their entertaining play, will square off at Championship Soccer Stadium in Irvine, California, each aiming for history and the coveted UPSL National title.
Tennessee Tempo FC returns to the national stage for the second time since Spring 2022, bringing a blend of experience and renewed determination. Their journey to the final included a dramatic 2-1 extra-time victory over Chicago Nation FC in Friday’s semifinal. After 90 minutes of scoreless play, Chicago Nation took the lead early in extra time. But Tempo responded with two quick goals to secure the win.
"The biggest thing for us going into extra time was we needed to be more patient," said Head Coach Gift Ndam. "Both teams canceled each other out pretty well. We had to dig deeper, change the approach, and overload different areas. But whatever we do, we have to do it together. Together is the only way to win these games."
LA10 Football Club is making its first appearance in the UPSL National Championship after a dominant semifinal performance against Balboa FC. The team displayed sharp passing, fluid attacking, and relentless movement off the ball. Under the guidance of Head Coach Leon Sharf, who led Inland Empire FC to the National Final in 2023, LA10 has navigated the postseason with poise and precision. With club owner Alessandro Del Piero’s influence and an undefeated season behind them, they now look to cap their record-setting campaign with a national championship.
Before the main event, fans will be treated to the UPSL National Third-Place match, as Chicago Nation FC faces Balboa FC. Both clubs will be eager to close out their strong seasons with a spot on the podium.
With four of the nation’s top semi-pro sides in action, UPSL fans can expect an unforgettable final day of soccer.
